The photo I chose was black and white, but to highlight my great grandmother, I colorized it using a painted layer and applying the filter mode color, in Photoshop. I wanted the background paper to be somewhat dreamy, so I blended 2 background papers, and then used transfer overlays, all using different blend modes, and opacities. I used a number of different edge overlays, each of different colors in the palette chosen, each having its own blend mode as well. Brushwork was added to the edges as well, for a bit more texture. I also blended in, a text overlay, keeping its opacity low, so you just see a hint of the text. The word art was premade from the kits I worked with. I complete the page with an element cluster to one side only, including a color clipped to the cloth flower, changing it from white to aqua, using the color blend mode. My final addition was the stitched loopdaloop, used to encircle my great grandmother, placing a butterfly at the end of the stitches.
