It is hard to visit a ghost town such as Bodie and not think of the lives that lived there and the history of this place. It was a gold mining town in Mono County, California which sprung up in 1859, and pretty much deserted as of 1932, after a number of fires in the declining town. The winters were harsh, and it was miles away from any resemblance of civilization. It was said that in it's peak, it had as many as 10,000 inhabitants. Common occurrences were stagecoach holdups, shootouts, saloon brawls and other forms of deadly mayhem. Quite a colorful history!
