Treasured Traditions (Oct. Guild Kit) by Dee Bee Designs

Journaling: Because we moved around so much during my childhood, “tradition” was very different for my family than it is for Beckers. The biggest tradition of the year next to the holidays is the annual pheasant hunt in Mobridge, SD. These pictures are from October of 2002. This was Jackson’s first and one of the last that we would spend at the Anderson house. Obviously, over the years traditions must change--Grandma and Grandpa Anderson are gone; we stay at the cabins at Indian Creek now--but so many things remain the same. We still eat more than we should. We still laugh as much as we can, because that in itself would make Grandma Anderson happy. We still love to walk the field on the first pass and listen for the rustling of the brush as the first pheasant flies into the sky. We still love to hear the stories of the one (or two or three) that got away. No matter how old the story is! We love the Anderson family traditions and we, as the next generation, will continue them as long as we can.
