Journal:
When I was young, Sunday was a special day of the week. After going to church and Sunday school, the day was devoted to family. We always went to Nanny’s house - she’s was my maternal grandmother. She and my grandfather had a home on about 25 acres of land that included several pastures and a pond. The backyard had huge trees that provided shade for the adults as they sat in lawn chairs and chatted. After sharing lunch, my cousin’s and I played together for hours. Easter Sunday was no exception ... it had the addition of lots of special food and an Easter Egg hunt. At first I wasn’t very good at the hunt for eggs ... I had a tendency to follow behind the others. I finally realized that if you venture out on your own instead of following behind you had a much better chance of finding an egg or two! I miss those days. It was a sweet time when the world wasn’t so busy. I look at the pictures, and I imagine crawling back into them and living it all over. If only that were possible!
