My faith is important to me, so my day starts with quiet time spent with God and His Word. This time helps to begin my day with a good attitude and outlook. Life has a way of throwing curve balls at us that could potentially lead to lashing out or reacting in a negative way. Those curve balls could also lead to feelings of resentment and bitterness. Reminding myself at the beginning of each day to strive for the Fruits of the Spirit (peace, gentleness, kindness, goodness, patience, faithfulness, self-control, joy & love) hopefully better prepares me in advance to react to negative circumstances in a more positive way. Of course, things happen throughout the day that could cause me to stumble, but I hope that starting the day by seeking God’s wisdom will equip me to quickly focus on how God would have me to react ... with positive fruit. Being able to do something creative is also something that gives me peace and quiets my spirit. I am so grateful for the outlet. It often allows me to think through the things that may trouble me and redirects my focus to the positives in life … and returns peace and quiet to my spirit.
