I have an incredible memory, one that everybody relies on and sometimes I can get annoyed when people forget things from the past. Of course, I can never find my keys when I need them and the mobile goes walk abouts sometimes, but hey! that's normal. BUT, what I have great difficulty in remembering is peoples names, not only when I meet someone I haven’t seen for a while or someone I have just met, but family members whilst I am talking to them. I always get names mixed and I know where I picked up the gene for forgetting names, MY NANNA.
I can still recall being called Margaret, Sheila, Joy, Janet etc etc and always saying, no Nanna I’m Carol. Well! now it is my turn to be corrected constantly. Names don’t have to sound the same, I just mix them up! Even Mum mentioned it the other day, and it is not something that has started as I got older, I have always gotten names mixed, pity the people I met two at a time, because it can be years before I get their single names correct. There is a plus, I never get the male and female names mixed, just female to female and male to male. Oh Well! thanks for listening Madge, Jorja, Lyn. Oh! you know who you are!!!!!
