May's featured designer Fiddlette is sponsoring a great 8-week challenge to get us all creating art-journal layouts. Details can be found here: http://fiddlette.blogspot.com/
I combined Fiddlette's free kit with this month's Guild kit to create this layout.
Journaling reads:
The poet Emily Dickinson says that hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul. As much as I love the poetry of Dickinson I have to disagree with her when she portrays hope as a fragile, feathered thing. Over the years of my Christian life I’ve come to learn that hope is the only thing that can help me stand strong in the face of adversity. Hope in Christ is the foundation of my security, the thing that gets me through the rough patches and dark valleys of my life. It is also the thing that brings an extra measure of joy to all of life’s blessings. In the Christian lexicon “hope” is not something that may or may not be realized. It is the certain understanding that we WILL realize the benefits of all that Jesus has already secured for us. Knowing the extent of God’s unshakable love for me overwhelms my heart with worship and fills me with a sense of happy optimism. When times are hard and the hopes I have for this life seem to go unrealized I simply have to remind myself of the secured hope that is already mine and my burden is lifted, my strength is renewed and my heart takes wing as the knowledge of God’s love lifts me as on eagles’ wings....so maybe hope has feathers after all!
I just love your heart, Debb! Your journaling on this layout is precious ... I was saying "Amen, Sister!" while I read it! I love the way the layout turned out ... beautifully done all the way around.
