Journaling reads:
When I asked if you wanted to go to the Lavender Festival you asked to bring along Kayla. You two had such a good time, even though we only stayed about an hour because it was so hot. First you did the face painting so you would have it in all your photos. You suggested to have them painted on opposite sides so the photos would be balanced. Next, you both made lavender bath salts sachets. You even got to bring home the sachet in a little gift bag with a recipe to make your own at home. Finally, the two of you grabbed a pair of scissors each and went off to cut your own lavender. You were allowed to cut a bundle that would fit in one hand. Even though Kaylas hands are bigger than yours, you ended up with the bigger bunch. (Did you cheat?) It was hard to decide whether to stay or go because there was still so much to do, but you both opted to go. All in all, it was lots of fun (even though I felt I was on a speed date, with the pace you two were doing things) but you just laughed and said “that’s how teenagers are, mom. It’s what we are about. We have a short attention span.” As long as you had fun, that is the important thing for me. On the way home we stopped by McDonald’s and got some Moccha Frappes. Kayla had never tried them but she liked it. Maybe next year I will plan a day for us and a day for me. Speed dating is definitely not my thing!

Beautiful page. Beautiful memories. Great choice of colors for this page. I can almost smell the lavendar.

This is wonderful journaling and I love the way your photos illustrate the story being told. I also LOVE the visual tie-in of the face painting and the elements that were used!
