I'm using CS4. I take all my images in RAW so I processed there first...upped the exposure and fill light a bit and some vibrance and a bit of sharpening.
Then in CS4, I used Curves to get my colors right, brightness a bit more, shadows/highlights to bring out the trees and his body, and last some sharpening again (not that it needed much).

Wow, you did a great job. I don't shoot in RAW but I've found that you can still go into the RAW section of CS3 and adjust your photos....I love the amount of control it gives you.
