Default Teaching my daughter to scrapbook

Many years ago I downloaded a program called TUX PAINT for Alannah. She uses it and Paint all the time to create things, and I have been waiting for her to become interested in digital scrapping. She has a camera, and I thought she'd enjoy making her own pages.

I try to focus a new project on something that she loves, so I bought a cat-themed quick page album about a year ago, waiting for the day she'd want to sit down and learn some basics. Well, today was the day!

Here are her first two pages:

She got a pad and pencil and wrote down each step I did. Then I had her switch seats with me to watch her do them. The second page she did everything but resize the title and type the text.

The journaling is straight from her, and the titles and placement are hers. This girl loves text! She knew exactly what she wanted in terms of fonts or alphas and made plans for the title placement. I showed her how to use the alignment grids.

Oh, what fun!!!

Yes, what fun! I love her LOs and the sentiments are beautiful. May this be the start of something great and long lasting for both of you.

Brings tears to my eyes. I can just see the glow and the smile on your face. She did a great job. And how very wise of you to wait until it was her idea. She did a wonderful job. You must be a very good teacher. :')

I remember when Olivia started digi scrapping . . . and my how she has grown in her abilities! You're gonna barely turn around, Stacey, and she'll be showing YOU how to do stuff. LOL

Fantastic pages ~ I'd say she's well on her way!
