Default Sledding!

Mid-Michigan received a light blanket of snow today to cover the few inches that have been around for the past month. We've not had the huge accumulation as our friends in New England have, but tonight we are supposed to get another couple inches.

Tomorrow is the first Saturday I have off since I started working at Sears Portrait Studio since the end of summer, so I'm taking Alannah SLEDDING! Yay! We are picking up her friend and heading to the one hill in the Valley that will give them speed. It's Kansas-flat here!

Whenever we want to go sledding we have to take a drive up to our local mountains, where it is not "Kansas flat" but actually precariously steep. We haven't been able to do it at all this year because even though we have gotten a TON of rain it has all come by way of the "Pineapple Express" (that is when the storms move into California from the Southern Pacific. It just hasn't gotten cold enough for snow in the local mountains (which are only 5000 feet elevation.)

However, my sister tells me that the Sierra range has gotten a bunch of snow this year; so much so that she is warning me that if we head up to Tahoe early in the summer season I might not be able to hike my beloved Carson Pass (which is at 8200 feet elevation) because it will probably still be buried....that makes me SO sad!!

Anyway, I hope you had fun sledding my friend!!

I've described sledding to my girls but they just look at me totally perplexed. They cannot even remember seeing snow. It is a good 13 hour drive from here to see snow and then only for a few months over winter. I must admit though if I can scrape the money together I am tempted..... Have a wonderful day Stacey!

Carolyn, I'll have layouts early in February of the day to show the girls. You know me, no scrapping at the end of the month, busy bee at the beginning of the month.
