Yesterday I did the Race For The Cure with 32,000 of my closest friends. Now I haven't walked much since my knee surgery 3 years ago, and definitely not 3 miles at a whack.
Well, I made it through ok - got a little warm and dehydrated, but recovered easily. Then we sat through the Survivor's Ceremony. I lost it briefly. I kept thinking of the one who didn't survive - Mary. It's been 5 years, but yesterday, it was as sharp as the day she died. Today, I went with my friends who are Zeta Tau Alpha alums and handed out pink ribbons at the local NFL game. The NFL had deemed today Breast Cancer Awareness Sunday. So it's been an emotional weekend. But in many ways, it was a gratifying weekend as well. |

Congrats on your completing the Walk! That is awesome! Now you know you can walk that far! I have been watching football and the teams all have pink on somewhere. You are doing wonderful work to help this cancer be defeated! Thanks so much!

Maggie, you know how proud I am of you! I love you and hope that today you are able to smile completely. Mary is so proud of you too and she was with you, holding you, as you cried. I got a little emotional myself this weekend, but I already told you that.
