Default recoloring elements and papers?

Hi, I'm new here, just posted my first layout in the gallery...it's for the Intro to Photoshop Elements class I'm taking...I'm so happy I'm taking the class because I've tried PSE on my own and couldn't get a photo onto a background paper until this class

Is it okay to re-color elements and backgrounds from both designer kits and the Guild kits for making layouts here? I did that with my first layout so the background paper would be pink for my pink rose photo, but have been wondering if it's okay to do that here?

Thanks
Leea

I am so happy to hear that you are getting along so well here. Its great to have you. Generally you can do whatever you want to the papers and elements as long as you dont claim them as your own for copyright reasons. So go nuts and color all you want.

I do it when I can't find what I want all the time, especially if a kit has something that's just a little "off" from my photo causing a clash.

I do this a lot . . . when crediting the designer for the item, I'll often put in parentheses the following: (hue altered) or (color changed).
