Default Wanna hear about my day?

My day has been so.....different. lol

I got to sleep in until 10am!!! WAHOO! Connor called from his grandparents to tell me it was snowing. Our first snowfall! Sean and I jumped into the car and headed to my parents. Connor was coming out the door and I threw snowballs at him. He wasnt expecting me so he was quite surprised. Him, Sean, his father and I had a great snowball fight. It was fun, cold, wet, but he just loved it. Oh and I hate to say it but I throw like a girl. My son has a better arm then me.

Then we went to Fabricville with my parents. They had a HUGE sale on! I bought 5 meters of fabric for $5!! Enough to make drapes and throw cushions for my bedroom. (I was going to do it over in the new year, ah well!) Not ugly cheap stuff either!! Black on black, satin and velvet Damask, black satin, hounds tooth and a vinyl type material for a runner.

We went to BURGER King for dinner and what a surprise we got there. There were NO BURGERS!! I roared! No burgers at Burger King. So we went to the mall. I had a nice healthy sandwich instead.

Tax Free sale at our mall so the place was CRAZY! You could barely move so we just left. Only purchase was a Neil Diamond CD by my Dad and so we had to listen to that the entire way home. lol

Did I mention there was a huge snowstorm? Still happening? Getting worse?

Santa parade was postponed until tomorrow evening. Had to call everyone because we all gather here since the parade goes right in front of our place.

The Chip Wagon was out anyway!! YAY!! BEST fries in the WORLD! I dare any of you to find better. They are out in the summer only, EXCEPT the day of the parade. Yummy!

Now I am here trying to catch up on work but just playing instead. Crazy day huh? May be I will sew tonight. Oh and I was suppose to paint Connor's room today. He is going to be upset with me come Monday. lol

Ackkk- Our Christmas parade is tonight, but I'm not going back out. We left the house this morning at 5:30 to meet with the Jeep group, a motorcycle group and a Corvette group to go to a children's home 90 miles away. All 3 groups support the home with donations and money so the kids can have Christmas plus some necessities. Then we took the kids mudding!!! I have lots of pics, but have to cull them out - then if I post any of the kids, I also have to blur out their faces since they are in protection.

I hope to scrap at least some of the Jeeps this weekend.

What a great day Amy...I like it that you got a great deal on your fabric. It can be expensive to find good fabrics nowadays. No burgers at Burger KIng...that's a hoot. Glad you had fun..

Amy I didn't know you were a seamstress!! That is yet one more thing we have in common my friend. I am a 'closet fabric-o-holic!!' I've been know to buy a yard of something for no other reason than, well, I just had to have it!! I'm sure when I die my family will go through my secret stash of fabric (mostly vintage stuff from my 'doll-days' that I just couldn't bear to part with when I set that hobby aside) anyway, I'm sure they will be scratching their heads wondering what in the world I planned to do with it all.

As for the snow...you lucky girl!! I think there is nothing prettier than the first snowfall of winter. Just one more reason I pine for Lake Tahoe!! Someday I'm determined to live somewhere in the mountains with a view of a big ole beautiful lake out my front window!

Rest up now...these are busy days....and be sure and set time aside to experience the magic of this season with that sweet little boy of yours!! ((Hugs))

What a great day you had! Congrats on the great bargain on fabric. I don't sew at all. In fact my neighbor has had my sewing machine for probably ten years. I am impressed that you can make curtains! My girlfriend makes beautiful quilts. I would love to learn how to do that. But probably don't want to learn something new at my age.

Neil Diamond huh???? I went to a Neil Diamond concert many years ago. My husband made me promise that I wouldn't tell anyone we went. so shhhh.....it is a family secret. LOL

No burgers at Burger King...that is just sacrilegious! Around here the burger of choice is In N Out. When I followed Atkins I would get their lettuce wrap burgers. yummy! But now I follow Weight Watchers and burgers and fries don't really fit into their plan. darn!!

You might sew after your busy day?? You must have an amazing amount of energy! Good for you. I would have slumped on the couch with a glass of wine and a Christmas movie. You inspire me to get more done in the evenings.

I hope today is as good a day for you as yesterday! I am off to church and exercise. We'll see where the day goes from there.

I had a similar conversation yesterday. I told my mother I had to stop buying material just because I thought it was pretty. lol

My mother says that I am a fantastic seamstress.....when I WANT to be. lol I did make my curtains last night but I changed my idea. I made one large panel to cover the whole window. I plan on making some white sheer drapes to go under them and have the black one just sweep across it. Tie it back with a pretty ribbon or such. That way Sean can use the black one as a blackout curtain when he naps in the day after back shifts.

AND I dug out my old wooden headboard. My Dad is going to cut the top off of it for me. Then I am going to use the black satin to make a padded headboard. AND I am repainting a vintage dresser I have to match and use as a TV stand. I need to get rid of the large one I have. Too stuffy. I am on a decorating kick this weekend. lol

Canay - WW allows hamburgers and fries - you just have to work them in. Here Whataburger has the best burgers - A WB Jr and medium fries is 16 points. Yes, a lot of points but I would have APs and use FPs on the days that I ate that. And I lost almost 100 pounds.

And yes, I need to get back OP and do what I need to do.

And Neil Diamond has always been one of my favorites since dancing to Sweet Caroline when I was in 6th grade at a UMYF party.

Wow you lost 100 pounds! Congratulations and that also gives me encouragement. I just started and realize that it is a challenge doing this right as the holidays are approaching. But I am using this time to chart my points and learn the program. I use the online charting and as I enter the foods I am eating I can see what is driving the point values up. I am not going to worry about losing weight this month. Not gaining weight will be a victory in itself
