Mice suck.
Here is my story. We have been married for a little over six years. In that six years we have had two mice, both in our old home. We have not delt with mice for four years. So Saturday, Roger has the girls at home and I am away at a bridal shoot. When I get home Roger informs me that he found a mouse...in the bathtub no doubt (floating as her returned about to put selah in her bath). So I was very thankful that I was not home to witness this event, and was glad that it was found and killed. So I didn't thinkmuch about it. Until... Sunday I'm talking on the phone and see it scurry behind my couch. I am freaked out by mice. So I run to DH in the bedroom and tell him there is a mouse. Now he isn't sure if i'm just paranoid from the mouse story adn seeing things, so he doesn't do much. Monday morning, i felt better about it. So me and the girls are sitting in the living room and i see it come out of the dining room scurry a bit, and return back. So I totally freak, and get the girls ready for zoe's dr appt and head out not to return till later that evening. I get home from practice and roger has set the traps.I feel better knowing we will get our mouse. We wake up, no mouse. I leave. Spend the whole day away (this was tuesday) come home and dh says we got the mouse. YAY! So I feel much better! DH wasn't so sure we were out of the woods. He pulled out and cleaned out. I wake up this morning go to the dentist. DH calles and said MIL said we caught another mouse! (That's three) So I'm totally unsure if they are all gone or not. I kept hearing things. So I'm sitting on teh couch and I sware I saw something scurry under zoe's swing. At this point I've had a break down. I mean I know it won't hurt me and its scared of me. But I've had enough. I can't stand the thought that these rodents have invaded my home and will scurry across the floor at any given moment. With my babies around. I even went outside b/c i couldn't stay in there. (of coarse the girls were in the swing/crib inside...i was standing by the window) which makes me feel like a horribal mother. DH is frustrated b/c he has no idea where they are coming....he finally found their 'home' in "Hopes bed" (our hideaway love seat in my OFFICE/PLAYROOM) So the traps are set again. And tomorrow I'll probably get up at the crack of dawn w/ dh and go to my mils. Yes I would rather be at my mils. |

A cat would help - oh, I am soooo sorry for you! Especially with a new baby in the house too! Ugh!
Keep setting the traps (but do get clean ones or clorox the used ones - mice smell 'death') - gross, I know, but true!!! And as for you standing outside, no not a bad mom - YOU needed a break by getting out of there! I am sorry, Steph!

Awwww...poor Steph!!! Mice are yucky yucky yucky...but hate to put the kabash on the cat...we had a cat that was a hunter and would be not only mice but snakes home, and not just out on the porch, but through the cat door and into the house...darn animal even brought in a couple of birds...and he didn't always kill them...so, moral of the story is, Steph if you do get a cat don't get a hunting cat!!!
((((hugs)))) Mice are really icky!!! |

I'm about to venture out of the bedroom and wake up selah and head out. We had two cats...thus is probably why we haven't had a mouse in 4 years.
But they went away when zoe was born...One ran away and one went to live with 'uncle frankie' Sigh. |

I am sorry to hear you are going through this Steph. I know how you feel. We had mice when Connor was a wee baby as well. My parents had sold their house and were living in my brother's apartment downstairs from me. I called my Dad at 5am to come and catch one I had trapped in the kitchen. hehehe
My nick is Mouser. Has been since I was born. My first toy was a mouse and every year my father still buys me a mouse for Christmas. I have even had a few for pets. I dont like when they are uninvited though. ![]() You are a great mom! You needed a break and thats ok. Your kiddies were safe and sound and thats what matters.
