Did you restart the computer after you installed the folder?

For Word and Paint Shop Pro, they have to be installed to be visible. So not only do you have to copy, you need to install - or use a font organizer such as The Font Thing.

Yes, it is most likely an "installation" thing.
It could be a) like maggies said the difference between having them INSTALLED and not just copied into the folder. Even though copying usually install them on most OS.
Or b), if you copied a folder, that the folder is still there, so the fonts are in the folder and not in the FONTS directory. That happens a lot actually. You can check by looking in c://windows/fonts
If you have an extra folder in there you need to move the fonts out of the folder into the windows/font directory

And most programs need to be restarted in order to see the new fonts too, so that's also an extra step you need to take if you haven't already.
HTH!
