I've been longing to work in the garden for weeks but work, family obligations and Superbowls kept getting in my way!!
![]() ![]() ![]() Well, Saturday promises to be a clear, if chilly, day. So, I'm gonna try to tackle some of the weeds before they devour my yard. It is a lot of work but I always enjoy it. I've got the sun, my itouch tuned into my favorite country songs, and the satisfaction of a pretty garden when all the work is done. Except for the sore muscles afterward I always find work in the yard relaxing. I'm sick, I know!! ![]() ![]() ![]() So, does anybody else have any plans for the weekend?

I'm still trying to recover from the viral/flu thing that I had . . . so I spent the day catching up on laundry that had overwhelmed me during the week when I was so sick. I also did some digi organizing and creating.
DH went outside and did some work on our patio, water fountain, and one of the flower beds by the patio. It looks so much better ~ but there's still so much work to be done! |

My weekend has finished, had our youngest grandson stay Friday night and that is always great. My garden awaits me too and here where I live we could also be saying the sun is supposed to shine. We have had a terrible summer, more like winter and enough water to think maybe we need Noah's plans for the Ark. After missing last summer as I was in hospital for much of it I was hanging out for some hot weather, looks like I will have to wait another year.

We live on two acres of property so I completely resonate with your last comment about there being so much left to do! I have to be very disciplined with my thought processes when it comes to my yard. I try to put "mental blinders" on so I only focus on what has been accomplished. Because if I work like crazy all day long and then look around at all that still needs to be done it just becomes too overwhelming. So, in that spirit, I'm thrilled with how my patio is looking-all the hedges are trimmed, the herb garden in cleared and ready for spring planting, the slope is weeded and my fountain is back up and running. Yesterday was the first Saturday that my hubby has been home in months. He is a soccer coach and if he is not coaching he refs games to earn some extra "play money" (the money we use to send our boys to Christian camp and stuff like that.) Anyway, there were no soccer tournaments or games yesterday so he was home and helped me in the yard all day. It probably sounds silly but I just love spending the day with him like that. It reminds me of the days when we were first married and had just moved to our home and were so eager to "make it pretty." There is nothing so special as weeding a garden, singing along to my favorite country song and looking up to see my sweet husband smiling at me with a twinkle in his eye....it is the simple things in life that bring me joy! ![]() ![]()
