We didn't get 4 feet of snow, mind you, but the wind is blowing so hard that it all accumulated in the driveway. I couldn't back out of the garage if I wanted to. We will not be shoveling because it's still blowing about 20 MPH (32 KPH).
Hmmm . . . . a southern climate sounds pretty nice right now!

I hear you. Shoveling last night I had to throw the snow from my driveway over banks that are over 4 feet high- I threw out my shoulder doing this...and we got another foot plus since then. Luck for me we all have a snow day so I don't have to do the shoveling today

Guess I will stop whining about the rain. At least it just drains away (although our rivers are way too high, and there has been a lot of flooding around here...flooding is worse than snow accumulation I think).

I was thinking about you as I watched the news this morning. Our pastor has two daughters who live in Chicago and our former youth pastor lives in Indiana so I'm always thinking about all of you when the weather turns bad. But don't worry, the ground hog didn't see his shadow today; that means an early spring, right?

I hear you Stacey!!!
I think I am about over snow now. Sadly, weather grid shows flakes and raindrops for Saturday... Sigh. Luckily, we don't have a lot of snow blowing into our driveway, I think. (Haven't looked in an hour or so...) But we have 3+ feet of snow pack as well as those snow mountains that are so high that you cannot see the cars from the font porch or from the car as you back out (or if you are lucky, pull out) onto the road. So we will be carrying the snow up the driveway and then launching it. Husband just came down and told DS#2 to get his boots on cuz it's Snow Time. And since he left his homework at school... no excuse for not shoveling. Oh, and it's a nice, heavy, WET mess out there on the steps and driveway, and I think it's still misting - nasty cold mist. Bwahahahaha. (OK, I will be out there too, as we have 125 feet of driveway, no snow blower, and EVERYONE gets a turn. But I can still take joy in the torture of my forgetful son.) |

No snow here, but lots of rain and wind last night. Our gazebo was ripped up. Grrrr.

We got about 12 inches here in Oklahoma. It is minus 10 this morning. I am so glad I don't have to try and get out in this weather since I am now retired and don't have to go to work. They closed the offices down anyway until today. They even closed down Wednesday night services. I tried to take some pics but it is too cold to stay out very long. Did get the nice shot of Flash to make the page I posted though.
There are lots of birds at the feeder so I am getting lots of practice zooming in with my new Nikon P100 camera they gave me as a retirement gift. We are safe and warm, and we have lots to eat so we are thankful. Stay safe and warm. I agree Shar, water is much more damaging than snow. Debb, I think the reason he didn't see his shadow is he didn't make it out of his den to even look. Too much snow and way to cold for him.
