Default Blah LO

What do you do when you create a LO that just seems blah to you? Like it's ok, but the results aren't all that great?

Do you start over from scratch? Tweak it and change it until you're happy? Leave it for now and do it over again later on?

Most of my LOs I love, there's one I did recently (not yet posted) that I'm not as thrilled about as the others. It's just not as inspiring to me.

It really depends on the layout for me. If you want, why dont you post it and we can make some suggestions.

I'm one who just continues to work and work with it until it just clicks. I can't trash something that has taken so much time. But there are definitely some layouts of mine I prefer over others.

I have rescrapped some photos if I'm not happy with a layout, and I may put it away and come back to it in a couple of days. One thing that seems to help me is stepping back from the layout and looking at it as a whole instead of the individual elements. I almost always see what bothers me that way. Looking at a thumbnail is how I "step back" from it a lot of times.

When I'm not happy with a LO, I'll usually try switching out my background paper. Often there is a paper in the same kit or color range that will seem to make the photos pop or at least make you smile. Also, Maggie is right, if you walk away from it and then come back to it, Often you will see something that just isn't right. Good luck!

This is actually a LO I didn't spend a whole lot of time on, maybe that's why I feel that way about it. Also, maybe it's because the photo is of me, which I don't enjoy scrapping as much as the photo I took of my hubby! Here's the LO in case anyone has any suggestions: (Although I might end up rescrapping it anyway!)

I think I would change out the background - the photo just kinda flows into the background or - maybe frame the photo. Also, I think the giant elements actually compete with the photo.

Ina - quit trying to hide "among the trees"!!!! I think that's what you did - you say you don't like scrapping you and I think you tried to hide yourself in the layout. And it's really a fantastic photo (I don't think I've seen a bad photo of you either!)

Maggie, what you said rings true -- I guess I am hiding among the trees (almost literally in this LO!) I guess I should rescrap the photo.
