Howdy from Texas!
I feel like a newbie since it's been so long!!! :D:D:D
I've finally finished 3 years of school while working fulltime - which left no time for scrapping. But I'm done with school and will soon have a brand new diploma that's says Masters of Science in Accounting with 4.0 Honors!!!!!!!!!!! Now's the time to get back into scrapping - will have to be for fun since I had to give up my CT duties when I started school. |
Welcome "home" Maggie! And WOW-congratulations on your accomplishments you have a right to be very proud. AND you have some special things to scrap about too! ;):p:D:D
It is so good to see you here! ((Hugs)) |
Wow, congratulations! What does a Masters of Science in Accounting mean for you? New job? Will you teach? Happy scrapping, good to hear from you!

Pam - main thing it means is security when I retire from this company, which I originally planned for this year. I've delayed that decision and am looking at what opportunities are available within the company. In fact, I talked to the Controller briefly this morning.
But with an accounting background, I will have more options and will not be tied to a geographic region as much as I am currently with a chemistry degree. |
Good for you, Maggie! Now we can do more genealogy, too! We just finished fiscal closing at MSU and the new term starts in just a few days. Fun, fun, fun! Welcome home.
|
Susan - I have my genealogy software installed on my newest laptop (18 months old) but it hasn't gotten much of a workout. And I want to dig into the 1940 census - most of my parents' generation and before will be easier to find.

Wow - quite an accomplishment. You will be able to jump right back into scrapping now - what fun. Welcome.

I know Susan knows this, but just because you find something in a family tree, don't take it at face value. I've gotten some really bad information in my tree that way and I'm still digging it all out. I want at best a primary source, or at least a secondary source such as census data. I have very common family names in my lineage - SANDERS is about as common as they come - add SMITH, HOLMES, WELLS, even SLAY is more common than I thought. At least on my grandmother's side, there are more uncommon family names but repeating first names - gah! |
