Well, I found out today that they will let just about anyone in this place when I got my first 3 month membership! I am not new to digital scrapbooking, been doing it a while, and even design a bunch of freebies in my never-ending quest to become a proficient Photoshop user/designer/blogger. I have a wonderful model for my layouts, also known as Maia (my three year old daughter who doesn't seem to mind me following her around 24/7 with my digital camera.)
I live in Utah, the scrapbooking hub of the Universe it seems. I don't know a lot of scrapbooking folk here, but I was introduced to it by an old coworker who opened her own scrapbooking store. Sadly, she doesn't get much of my business since I am such a computer geek :)
I spend most of my free time scrapbooking and designing. And chasing my husband while he chases Maia. I hope to get to know a bunch of ya and that you don't find my quirky sarcasm to be too overwhelming. Really I am a playful gal at heart, I promise.

ah sheesh - I see everyone has warned her about me already!!! :p :D
I have a 7 yo niece that complains "Maggie, you alwaaaaays have your camera", so I can relate to following someone around 24/7 with a camera.
And I think that you and I will become good friends - and then we can gang up on everyone else around here! Whatcha think?

Welcome, I am a big fan of your blog. Thanks for all of your freebies. I've been a member here for two months now and really like it. The emphasis is on learning rather than selling and the comments are more honest. The Guild Kits have been beautiful. Hope you have fun.

I was excited when I looked around the galleries an saw some real feedback on layouts that weren't just "Nice LO Thanks for sharing". I will be the first to admit that I have no formal scrapbook knowledge, having never read a book or a magazine about it. I used photoshop for my web designing for graphics, and was often doing "digital scrapbooking" just in different sizes and not with digital scrapbook products, just my own created patterns and backgrounds and such. Imagine how thrilled I was when I stumbled across some fabulous scrapbooking sites and it took over my life :)
I am more a freestyle do it my way kinda gal, but I am very interested in learning more so I can take my scrapping AND designing up a notch. So glad to see a friendly place to do just that. I am sure that the membership is well worth the meager cost :)

Did anyone notice the time our leader posted here? The woman needs sleep:o
Hey, pillowgirl, you will NOT want to leave this site! It has a fun, helpful, considerate group of scrappers! Yep, none of us wants to leave our puter either. When you see a layout in your mind as you are listening to the pastor's message, you know you crossed over the edge:D

OH MY GOSH Mary!!! That's toooo funny! I thought I was the only one that did that on Sundays! It's the praise music that gets me - during worship songs I often start thinking of using the words in a layout!
But I think my weirdest experience was during the 5 months I spent in the hospital with Bob....I kept imagining layout backgrounds when I saw all the different prints on nurses' scrubs! Some of those designs would make awesome papers!
Does that mean I'm over the edge too??

I get some of my best inspiration driving to/from work - which means I'm not concentrating on my driving!!! I think we are all addicted! :D

Most of my ideas come from reading my kids books, going shopping for clothes (for the kids) and from commercials on the kids channels. :) Its horrible to be addicted.
Its also horrible to be doodling while listening to the pastor's message as I am doing a LOT. If I had a tablet, maybe that would help :)

Hmmm - I guess it would be a little obvious if you had your Wacom hooked up to your laptop in the middle of service, huh?

You gals are really making me laugh. My husband hates it sometimes when we go shopping because I get a lot of inspiration from clothes and patterns I see... and I am often really slow going through those sections at walmart because I am mentally photographing them (since he won't let me take my camera in the store hehe)
I make him take walks with me and I take photos of the ground or the paint on peoples' houses or their plants... all so I can bring them home and try to make overlays and textures out of them. I love using the things around me in this craft, which is why I like digital so much more than paper... it is really cheap AND I truly believe inspiration can come from anywhere.

One of the first things I took pictures of with my new digital camera was the wall at my work. It is just a plain wallpaper with some texture to it that I liked... I liked it because I thought "That will be a neat paper texture"... and I took ithome and used it in my latest blog kit. You know, people think I am an odd duck at my office, but my blog visitors sure liked the papers it made :)
WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME! We are so happy to have you here! You will definitely fit in with the fun girls that call this place home! :D
