I would like to know how to make the edge of a sticker appear to be lifted/curled slightly on one edge. I use PS CS2. Any suggestions on how to do this? Drop shadows help, but that I want the edge to be LIFTED ;-)

Hi Mary - I have PS7 and this doesn't have a warp tool but I thought your version did? If it does I would use this to angle your corner slightly upwards then add your shadows. The only way I've learnt is to cut the corner, rotate/flip so that it faces into the photo and then use the 'Liquify' tool to manipulate the edge until it looks how you want. Paths are another useful tool also. Sorry I can't give you more help.
Here is a link to a curled corner (http://www.digitalscrapbookartisanguild.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=5084&ppuser=478)I did....

Yep, use the warp or the liquify - it depends on what look you are going after as to which one works better for you. Also, make sure to delete the shadow beneath the layer, if your 'sticker' is transparent on the edges - if that makes sense?

I have used both the warp and liquify tools, but I didn't think my finished product was very realistic. Guess I'd better practice some more! And Wendy, the site you referenced looks like a wonderful resource. Thanks everyone!

I'm a complete newbie to digital scrapbooking and have a question - I've downloaded some graphics to my hard drive. Now, how do I add those graphics to my layout in Photoshop Elements?
Thanks for any help!

What kind of graphics are you talking about? Pictures, add on's, kits?

There are a couple of ways to do it. The first would be to have your layout open and the 'graphic' open (I'm assuming it might be a png file or a jpeg (?)) Then, keeping the graphic file active (click on that file) go to select>all, then go to edit>copy, then make your layout file active and go to edit>paste. I think in PSE (although Rachel you may want to correct me here) you can have both files open, go to the graphic file and click and drag it into your layout file.
If you are a beginner you might be interested in our Intro to PSE class. It will be starting on September 4. Rachel Alles is the instructor and she is WONDERFUL!! You will be scrapping in no time with her help!! You can find out more info about the class here. (http://store.digitalscrapbookartisanguild.com/detail_00ACIntrotoPSE__ACADEMYCLASSES.html)

Hi Rebeca, you can do the drag and drop in PSE, but for some reason to me it seems more difficult than using the menus. I would open my graphic file and my layout file. Then I would go to my graphic file and make sure that the layer was highlighted on the right hand side of the screen. Then from the top menu I would choose Layer/Duplicate layer...then there is a drop down that lets you pick where you want the layer to go. The copy/paste will work too. There are so many ways to do things in PSE.
It is a great idea to take the class....you can spend HOURS trying to figure things out, and you still might never find out that certain features even exist! I surely wouldn't have known about many things that I use ALL THE TIME if I hadn't taken a class (or two, or three....). Welcome to digital scrapbooking! You have found a wonderful site here, the ladies are very nice and helpful and amazing artists!
Hi, Rebeca! I hope the wonderful ladies above me have been able to help you! If you get stuck, please do feel free to post more questions here, or I am available through private messaging. We'll get you through it! :)
