I did it, I did it, I did it!! Well at least for the moment!!
I don't know what has been my problem but ever since we started putting this site together I have had a beast lurking in my house! What is this beast you may ask? Well, it is the dreaded LAUNDRY BEAST who makes his presence known by mounting piles of clothes!! :D :D
It seems for the better part of the last three weeks I have been surrounded by piles of clothes....piles in the laundry room sorted into baskets....waiting to be washed....piles in the bedroom...waiting to be folded....piles in each of the boys rooms....waiting to be put away....piles in their laundry basket.....waiting to be sorted into the piles in the laundry room!! AHHHHHHH.......no matter WHAT I did I couldn't seem to get on top of it.
Finally, yesterday, I was determined to defeat this beast!! And this morning, I just sorted and folded the last sock and put it away and viola...NO MORE PILES!! :D
Alas, I do fear my victory will be short lived! After all I do live in a house full of MEN!
So, tell me, do any of you suffer from attacks of this said beast? Or is it just the curse of a "Mom to Boys?"

Well Debb, I'm the mom to 2 sweet, gentle, demure (yeah, right!) girls, and they both change clothes at least twice a day!
I've had a laundry problem since I started scrapping! I have no issue doing the laundry, it's putting it away! We live out of laundry baskets. But in my favor, I did buy really pretty laundry baskets:) Equally ugly beast for me... unloading the dishwasher! YUCK!

No laundry problem here..........but remember I have 4 helpers! I do have a beast tho...........It's the office/paper/clutter BEAST!
I'll trade for the laundry beast any day!
I got a new washer/dryer for Christmas.........front loading.....so it's so much easier......not as picky about sorting.........
Oh and then there is the IRONING beast...........
Ahhh.....

Well I don't know what in the world my problem is other then sheer laziness! I guess truly I would rather be scrapping! LOL! I also share my home with this horrible nasty stinky beast and I hate him. I realise to hate is a strong word but he never goes away! I get myself all caught up and tell myself I won't ever let it get "that bad" again and slowly he re-surfaces after many many days of telling myself "...I will do it tomorrow!" I know it is really bad when I get to the point that buying new socks, sheets, towels, and underwear are easier to me then comfronting the beast!! *SIGH* If only there could be a happy medium! It sure makes me my Mom and all those times she confronted said "beast" on my behalf!

For someone who only has her own laundry to do, I can never seem to get rid of the beast. I swear my clothes are doing funny things in the bathroom pile - I don't have room for a hamper in the bathroom and if I leave them anywhere else, the dog steals them and takes them outside.

I slayed the laundry beast 2 yrs ago, we moved to NZ and I didnt have a washing machine so took it all to the chinese laundry down the road, he washes, drys, irons and folds the washing for $20 a wk, I only do the nickers!! I drop off on the way to work & pick up on the way home.... viole la just have to put it away!!! and I love It!! more time for scrapping!!
Now if only I could slay the dreaded dirty oven!!! Its like a snearing, smoking monster, I've been hiding from it for months now, its nearly time to face up to the monster...YUKKKKKKK .:( :(

I often find myself waist high in laundry! Dirty, clean, folded - all stages of laundry. Just like you, Debb. Once the kids are in bed, if I am not at my computer, then I am at war with "the Beast". I can't WAIT til my kids are old enough to help. Maggie DOES actually put hers away now. And, also tries to help with it in other ways, too. BUT, she's not quite old enough to do her own. Yet. :D And, in just a few years, the boys will be well on their way to doing theirs, as well. I hope.

I'm slaying the beast today...at least for time being. I have a 5 yr old little girl who like Joann's girls, likes to change many times a day, and a teenager who skates, so his clothes are always dirty and smelly, then there's my husband who has his work clothes and his day clothes and refuses to wear the same pajama pants more than one night. Then there's simple me, If I don't go anywhere and don't get my clothes dirty, I shower and put them back on.(Is that gross??) There is ALWAYS a pile of laundry somewhere in my house.

Reading Christie's post - I'm thinking "no, I don't put my clothes away, I just leave them in a pile on the counter by the washing machine." then realized wrong Maggie. It's so unusual to see another Maggie mentioned.

Girl, I do that VERY thing. I think I get three days' worth of my jeans before washing, and, if I am lucky and Peter hasn't gotten goo on me, then two days for my shirts. I also use my bath towel for several uses as well. ANYthing I can do to save on laundry, as the rest of my family does nothing in that category!! LOL

Ah yes, the laundry beast. It is half way tamed here. Ever since I was on bedrest during my pregnancy with the twins, my DH took over the laundry duty (for the most part) and we kept at least some of that up.
However, his idea of doing laundry is throwing everything on the floor until the weekend comes (I DO have hampers everywehre though !!!) and then do laundry. Once it comes out of the dryer, his part is sort of done. If I don't get to the laundry real fast then, it'll end up on a heap on the floor again ... only clean this time.
Since my DH is however the one that goes through clothes like nobody's business (and towels) because he can't be bothered to put stuff away, it's probably just aswell that he is participating in the laundry beast. And sometimes I do think that something lives in the laundry beast piles he produces - no kidding !
Since I also have 2 15 month olds, that are at the "do it myself" messy stage, I do laundry every other day too though, but that part never turns into much of a beast.
Now, to the dustbunny and cat hair beast .... whole different story :p

oh my goodness! I just can't face my laundry beast! During the winter, it seems we have tons of sweaters, coats, socks, blankets... I have way too many things to wash. I do try to set aside a day to clean, but it doesn't usually work that way, lol.

Well, we have 5 kids and 1 grandson, so YES, our laundry is one BIG beast! We do an average of 3-4 loads a day and the whole family is involved!
