Ok, watching the AI finale

I thought it was cool that Melinda got to sing w/ CC and BB
I didn't want to hear Kelly Clarkson twice...She's gotten screechie to me
Blake and Jordin did awesome in their duets
Taylor was good....
Carrie was awesome
Sanjaya.....could have done w/o it

Could have also done w/ out Gwen Stefani, Green Day, Bette Midler, and Tony Bennett,

What I would have really liked to seen?
Jennifer Hudson singing "You're Gonna Love Me"
Clay Aiken sining anything he wanted

Ok, winner announced soon....eeek! I love this show

Jennifer has been dissing the show big time, so I can see why she wasn't there. Bette was extremely flat!!! But I was glad about the outcome. And I could have done without Sanjaya.

Holy cow, WHAT happened to Bette Midler???? She was just AWFUL!

I loved Kelli Clarkson and Carrie Underwood! Go Carrie!!! 6 million copies of her album sold!!!

And how cool was that last night at the end of the show when Chris Daughtry played live! He left WAY too early last year, but I think he was better off without the title. He was just incredible!

Sooooo very happy for Jordin!

How about that Beatles medley, too!!! I loved that! Kelly blew the heck out of Sgt. Pepper!!! That was a huge win for Idol. They have been trying to get the rights to use Beatles songs since season 1.

Yes, what about Bette Midler ... oh my... it was painful to listen to!! And she didn't just hit the wrong note once. I don't really watch AI but we always watch the last 5 min before House starts and then on and off the last show. I don't think I could stand to watch more and I have to say that it's just way too much hype but I suppose we get even more around here because of Jordan being from Phoenix.

It just goes to show how much "post processing" is put on many recording artists' songs. When you hear some of them live they sound TERRIBLE. It's because they don't have all of the fancy technology from the recording studio helping them out. I never understood why people get upset about lip synching. I'd much rather hear the recorded version than a live one! It usually sounds better!

I have to tell you all a fun story....my boys and I have watched AI for the last three seasons, it is about the only thing besides Myth Busters and Football that we ever watch....anyway, in the past my husband has just rolled his eyes and playfully 'harrumpffed' about how his family is addicted to "American Idolatry."

Well, slowly but surely the show has been drawing him in. Two weeks ago I walked into his office and overheard him talking to a business associate about the brilliance of the AI marketing scheme....I just smiled and winked...he blushed! And then last week he was out of town in Iowa. Because of the time difference he had already seen the result show and teased me unmercifully about knowing the results. Then the next morning the phone rang at 6:00 am...I answer, "Hello?" and...before I hear Hello, or Hey Babe or Hi sweetie its me...I hear.....WELL...........WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, my dear sweet husband is well and truly hooked on American Idolatry!!!

The thing that struck me this season more than in past seasons is the genuine sweetness of the majority of the finalists, I'm sure there is lots of maneuvering and gripping behind the scenes but they all seemed to have a great deal of affection for one another. Now I'm just praying that fame does not ruin sweet little Jordan; she is SO young!! Maybe Carrie Underwood will take her under her wing.

Oh....and isn't Carrie just the classiest thing?!! She is my all-time favorite idol! (Well, she IS country after all!! :)) Although I also have a fondness for Daughtery, he stole my heart last year when he sang the national anthem at one of the football playoff games and had tears streaming down his face as he sang. Ah, what can I say? I'm just a good ole country girl...God bless the USA! :) :)

I am not a fan of this show, I have only seen 1 show this season, but I can say I am SO HAPPY to hear Jordan won, because she was the only one that I though had real talent. She is going to grow that talent so wonderfully too I think. I'll butt out now :)

I was glad to see that Jordan won. I hadn't watched much of this season's shows. I just couldn't get interested in any of the contestants this year. The Bon Jovi episode was the only one I really wanted to see and I missed it!!

I've been watching from the beginning and I think the Carrie Underwood/Bo Bice season was best. I really liked both of them.

Now I can't wait for the So You Think You Can Dance show to get past the silly audition episodes. I really enjoyed watching the good dancers last summer.

I'm with you on that Angie, watched it last night, pretty painful to see some of the bad ones....makes you wonder if they truely think they are good dancers or if it's all put on for the show....

Debb, that is just TOOOO funny!! Sounds like something that my hubby and I would do! Or would have done in previous seasons. He's worked so many evenings lately (started different job) that hehas tried not to get involved in AI or Danciing with the Stars this season. The only one he kept up with this season was Survivor.

(ME: Hello, I'm LaDonna and I am addicted to Reality TV. YOU: Hi, LaDonna!) :D :D :D

Carrie is my favorite AI winner, too. Just love her voice and yeah, I'm a country music girl myself. My second favorite is Kelly Clarkson. OK, yeah, she went through that little tiff where she didn't remember which side her bread was buttered on, but there's no denying the girl has got pipes! Jordan will definately fall in with this top group of my favorite AI Winners. Then there's a huge gap for the bottom three: Taylor, Ruben and Fantasia in that order.

Oh, and Angie and Frani, I'm with you! Let's get to the real competition for So You Think You Can Dance!!! And can't wait for the new Big Brother!
