Sigh

Dh asked me specifically to wash his shorts...so since most of the laundry is clean i was scrounging for things to wash with them, one of the items were the only pair of maternity capris I own...and they had my phone in the pocket. I started the wash and got Selah and I ready to go to my dental appt...couldn't find my phone. Then in dawned on me that it could be in the wash...and it was..

My pink razor phone....never to be used again.
I'm cell phone less!!!!!

Don't panic yet! Take it to your provider, where they have a service department, they may be able to dry it out. Worth a shot... :D

Yeah, they might be able to save it. I had a phone get caught in the rain for over an hour (yes, it was attached to me - it was when I was training for the half marathon and I had to get my miles in), and the battery was the only thing lost.

Back in the day when we had to carry pagers for work, I washed my pager, not once but THREE times! It actually dried out and worked all three times. If you take it to your phone dealer, they may be able to open the case and get it to dry out.

My phone ended up dunked in Lake Michigan when I got pushed in the water! It dried out within a week and was fine...take the battery out and dry it out as well as you can and let it sit out in a warm area for a while...it may work just fine!

A friend just told me yesterday he washed his 3 times in the washing machine and it worked every time after drying out!!!! Don't trash it yet, let it dry and see what happens!! Good luck :)

My cell phone however, NEVER dried out after taking a dip in beautiful emerald waters of the Gulf Coast a few months back :( Oh well...

I think the battery is shot. DH had a spare and put it in my phone and it seems to work.....hummm. Oh well.

hmmm...Amy, I wonder if that is the modern day equivalent to the 'message in a bottle?' Just imagine the phone floating out to see and then found by some marooned sailor or something...the text message his lone contact with the outside world! ;) :) :)

I've never washed anything important, have thrown a few things away. But I don't think we will ever forget when my mother washed my brothers passport three days before his departure.

He was so upset and we didn't know if we could get a new one on time. But my mother not bothered at all said "I don't check pockets". Good thing the woman at the consulate was a quilt club member with my mother and thought the whole thing was funny. Yes everything arrived in time.
