I did SO good this year and then I just fell off that wagon. lol I am hoping to get it done in the year 2010! :) I am turning 30 in 2011 and its on my list! My 30 things to do before I am 30! It says, "SUCCESSFULLY complete a year of 365 photos." So anyone joining me?

365 days, 365 photos. :)

I will try again. My problem is I run out of things to photograph at night - since that seems to be the only time I have to photograph, even carrying a camera pretty much every where I go.

In keeping with my breaking things up into small pieces theme, you could do a few of your beautiful words for each week/month to keep us inspired:)

LOL! I wasn't trying to call you out:) I was suggesting that you could choose a few of your words per month for all of us...it seems to me that when I am actually looking for a special picture, I am more likely to notice other things to take pictures of....perhaps giving some inspiration to keep going with the 365:)

So far I've done the 365 project. Although I haven't done all my weekly pages yet (I think I'm back on week 44).

I'm really getting excited the closer I come to finishing...I've even gone back and re-edited a few of the weekly layouts. I'm planning (or should I say hoping) to find the money to make a hardcover photo book of the layouts.

I love looking back through the weeks and seeing what we did all year and getting a real look at how my house looked this year. Because on the numerous days (a couple I week) when I'd forget to take a photo I'd snap a last minute one of something in the house. So I've got a bunch of photos that show favorite things and how horrible we are at cleaning.

It is to the point now that even my cat (like my children) runs and hides when ever I get the camera out.

I don't want to take on a challenge that I know I will fail at. :-)

Instead of doing 365 days , I am doing a layout to capture each month as well as my single 'moment' layouts...

I am going to try and take a photo a day but am focusing on food and my garden. I'll be doing a monthly layout and have no idea yet if or how I will relate these 2 topics.

With 2 teenage daughters who do not want photos at all, it was difficult.

I guess I just love having the camera out every day.

Well I actually completed all days last year and it has gotten to be such a fun experience that I am going to continue into 2010. I post my photos on flickr.

Yolanda of course you can! (Says me who lost it in March last year..) Nancy where do you post on Flickr - is it your own account or part of a group. Maybe we need to create our own group to keep us inspired???

Ok, I am gonna jump in on this too!!! But I will only post once a week I think!!! I tried to do this last year and failed miserably and I think because of the posting part of it!!! So that is what I figure I can commit to :D
Now off to take my first picture!!!

Yes I post to my own account on flickr and then I joined a group called 365/2010 new faces old timers. It was just random and I like the variety of places the people were from. I like the fact that many are repeat 365ers so I am hoping they will keep me motivated. It is an open group until Jan 10th. Please all come join!

Okay, so I'm in BUT I think I'm just going to post all the photos on my Facebook. As for a weekly layout- I'm not so sure I can do that as well so I'm going to focus on the photos. We'll see how it goes:D :D

So do any of you use Adobe Lightroom? I am thinking I might give this a try in conjunction with my January PAD (free Beta of LR3 through end of April)....if I'm still using it by then I'll be sure that I want to buy it:)

I use Lightroom and love it. I have imported all photos and am now just adding additional keywords. It is a great product.

I'm planning to do this, although, I'm not sure how long I can keep up with it. I'll try, I will.

I know I would not even be able to do a photo a day, but maybe one a month. Thanks for the idea TinaMarie. Surely I can do a layout a month. :)

Jan - you can start at any time. Last year, I didn't start until the 3rd or 4th.

I did this last year and I'm doing it again.
For me taking photos daily is easy, I do it anyway.
Getting them off the camera and on to my blog takes more of an effort but I figure as long as I take them every day it doesn't matter if I have to play catch up on the blog.

I started last year and was posting on my blog, then lost track.... :( I am doing it again though! Off to a decent start! lol

Jan, I started on the 7th last year! You should do it!!!!! :D I would love to see more of your photography!

Well I got through the first week. But it did not help yesterday when I went to download my photos late yesterday afternoon and I had been shooting without a card in the camera. Setting has now been changed to lock ability to shoot without a card... Another lesson. And of course they would have been "brilliant photos!"

Here's an example of what I mean by capturing a month at a time.

It's more busy than I like my layouts to be. I am trying to use blocked templates to make it look cleaner.

I use some of the Project 365 templates.

Do you girls have any favorite templates that you would like to share??

thanks
Tina

Very cool!

I have been thinking about creating one layout a week for my 365 and doing the layout up as a template to give away on my blog....

I cant tell you how many times I almost did that but I have the lock on. The only pictures I have from my graduation are the ones given to me by friends because my dad forgot to put film in the camera. ;)

I'm still doing this, since I started in March last year. Miracle of miracles, I'm finally caught up! Here are my LOs (http://thisisina.smugmug.com/Project-365/Project-365-Layouts/7796934_ceF7k), only about 6 weeks left to go till my baby turns one!

I am working on this, so far, I've been able to get a photo every day, but I find I'm running out of ideas. Some days are easy, I have lots of choices, but other days, like today, I'm home all day and I'm just not coming up with any new ideas. You guys who have made it through a whole year are amazing, how do you keep coming up with ideas?

Grab your camera and walk thru your house- shoot the plants you are growing (journal a comment about your green thumb or not), gifts that you received (will you remember where you got that vase or other knicknack?), the view out the front window or back door. sit on the floor at your kids' level- shoot the room, etc from their point of view. Hand the kid your camera and let them take the picture for the day! I once made a bouquet of tulips last through a week's worth of pictures-documented the vase, the closed flowers, the opening beauty, etc.
There are a bunch of web sites that give photo of the day prompts- try some of them.!
Lots of fun and well worth it! I printed the layouts with Inkubook and have great documentation of 2009! So much fun that I'm continuing another year.
Hope this helps.

I'm about a month away from making it through a whole year. :D To be honest though, I have missed days, I just take more pictures on other days to make up for it. I figure it's the spirit of the project, not the technicalities that I should get caught up in.

I guess it's a bit easier for me since I'm focusing on my baby the whole first year of his life. When I'm out of ideas, I try to think about what story I want to tell for that day, either something new or different that happened that day, or some little detail that I'd like to tell the story of. Hope that helps!

Most of the time I just shoot what is around me. I grab my son or my man or any object within reach. Some days I plan, but most days not. I grab friends, friends' kids, etc.. I shoot our food even! lol Flickr is a GREAT resource for ideas as well if you run out. Just look up the different groups for 365, there are ones for self-portraits, for children, for general, for clouds, everything!
