hey all...i know that the entire country is recovering from the events at vriginia tech on monday. seeing as my hubby is an alumn and blacksburg is the town we basically started our lives together, it is really hitting home for us. all of our close friends who are still at tech are physically fine. they are quite shocked and upset (obviously) over what has happened in "our" sleepy little town. so far the closest connection to one of the victims is a friend of a friend's cousin. this is still too close though. i would appreciate prayers for ALL hokie families across the nation and world. a video on my husband's myspace page says it all..."today we are ALL hokies." virginia tech is a wonderful and almost sacred place in the eyes of almost everyone who has lived in blacksburg or gone to school at tech. i would also like to remind everyone to pray for the shooter's family - i think in times like these we forget the "bad guy's" family a lot of times. ok...now i'm sobbing, so i had better stop...lol! thanks in advance for any and all prayers.

Oh sweetie, you know I feel exactly the same way as you do. This is an outrageous tragedy and soooo unbelieveable that it could happen to any of us at any time. I have been praying for those families and for all of the students who have been hit with this awful incident. May God give them all strength
and wrap his loving arms around every single one of them and may none of us every have to deal with such a crime.

I had the opportunity to take a short course on the VT campus several years ago and had an instant affinity for the campus. The spirit and the core of the school is very much like the school I attended, Texas A&M - only VT has hills.
I know this is going to be something the school is going to be slow to recover from, and may never completely recover from. But I have a feeling that the strength of the students is going to be simply amazing and that Hokies are going to be proud of how the school body responds in the coming weeks and months.
Prayers continue to go out to the families impacted by all of this.

Although I'm half-way a cross the world as soon as I heard the news I was in shock. It was such a terrible, sensless thing to happen and I'll be keeping all involved in my thoughts.

It is a sad time for our country. Vtech is a school many kids from our area want to attend. Many of the victims are from NJ or NY. Several kids from our city are attending or plan to attend next fall. Prayers are being sent for the whole extended Hokie community.

Our family have been 'praying without ceasing' since we heard the news. Blessings to you my friend...we are all sorrowful at the thought of such evil being committed and the incredible loss of all those precious lives...it is times like this that I find myself whispering, 'even so come quickly Lord.' Someday it is my faith that we will no longer have to suffer the presence of evil. Until then the best we can do is to try to be shining lights for one another.
