The designers knew about this- but I wanted to share with the rest of you - so you would change your paypal passwords often.
I had my bank account on paypal so that I could get my paychecks from Scrapartist when I had my kit there for the apprentice contest. One day my DH opened the mail and we had like 6 overdraft notices from the bank! :eek: We have never had one in our life! So- I was checking with the bank and knew we had more than enough to cover the little checks- or so I thought. Someone from the UK had logged into my account and withdrawn 2000 dollars from my checking account!!!!! :eek: I have NEVER answered an e-mail from paypal with my info, never shared my password , and it had numbers and letters. They told me it happens to 5 % of all the users!!!!! WOW
So - I canceled the credit card on the paypal account, filed a police report, a fraud alert,etc. The bank dropped the overdraft charges and paypal reimbursed me later that day. (they said it usally takes 10 days!) I have no viruses on my pc, have a firewall, everything is encrypted for my network.
So _ I thought I would share and remind you to change your password frequently- with symbols, upper, lowercase letters and numbers too. And not a word in the dictionary. They have password generating software and I was the unlucky recipient! Who would have thought!
