I know there are commercially available text paths for PSE and PS. Does anyone know of any available for PSP? I can not draw a decent curve to save my life and want to have a swirly text path for journaling on a layout I'm working on.

what I do to get a specific shape or curvy line is get a shape that already exists that I what to follow....maybe a template and use the pen tool with the draw line and ploygram function.....you just follow your shape and wha la you have a path.

That's what I do too...I use something I like and make my path follow it!

My problem is I can't draw smooth enough to make a good text path - maybe I need to pull out my tablet :D :D :D

What shape do you want Maggie....circle, swirl, zig-zag?

Debb - what I was looking for was some swirls - I would prefer them going off to the left as my photo is on the right hand side of the page. I found some by Andrea Gold, but her's go off to the right - you can't flip them because the text ends up being backwards the way she has them set up (if I played long enough, I probably could have gotten it to work). So what I did was I turned them a little more than 90 degrees so the text is sideways, and it's not toooooooo bad - LOL! I will post my layout tonight for y'all to see.

Maggie, to make smooth curvy path, you don't need to hand draw completely.
1. In the pen tool, pick the draw point to point - bezier curves option.
2. click the point to start and end. ( make sure the back ground color set to none) It will be straight line but don't worry.
3. Now you can add a node where you want the curves. while the cursor is on the path, hold down the CTRL key to show the "add node option", then simply click on the path.
4. When you click on the node, it'll show the handles to adjust the curve. You can drug the handle, or node it self to the way you want to adjust.
5. You also can change the node type by by right click on the node, then
node type.

I'm not good at explaining things, I might have confused you more... Let me know If you need more help.

I hate Bezier curves - I never can get them to work correctly!!! Must be a mental block thing.
