Most of you know that I am on an extended working vacation with my family in Lake Tahoe. My husband is still down in San Diego until next week (he had too many business meetings and could only afford to take off for 10 days vs. the 23 days that we are taking....I'm the lucky one in that my 'work' is all on the computer!)
Anyway, the boys and I decided to drive out to Spooner Lake and hike around it today. It is a small little lake north-west of Lake Tahoe that is a nature preserve and a great place to spot wildlife. The plan was to take a bunch of photos and then to email them to my hubby this afternoon to let him know we were thinking of him on Father's Day.
Well.......we got to the lake, the weather was perfect, the lighting was amazing, the aspen leaves were quaking and reflecting sunlight, the boys were in a joyful mood....And.....And.......I FORGOT TO BRING THE CAMERA!!!!!!!!     I told the boys I felt like my arm had been amputated; this must be how an addict feels when denied their addiction. Yes, I admit it, I'm Debb and I'm photo-a-holic!! ;) :p :D :D :D
Needless to say I WON'T be making that mistake again on our trip...I've posted a big sign on the front door that says, "Hey Dummy, do you have your camera?!!!" :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

OMG, Debb - that totally sounds like something I would do - either that or get there and fiind either the battery was dead or I forgot to load the memory card (not that I have actually done either - nope, not me, not at all :D :D :D)

I did the same thing when the girls and I went to San Francisco last year. I just refused to get on the plane until Melissa found a camera to borrow from one of her friends :)

What a special time for just you and the boys, Debb...precious...

Oh Debb, I feel your pain. I did the same thing when I went to my niece's wedding. I just remembered I forgot to pack my camera on the way (8 hours drive), and I actually cried!! My DH thought that was funny but for me, it was a serious matter. I'm sure you ladies would understand me. ;):p

Oh, Debb! I am going to miss the photos - BUT great challenge here, don't you think? Do a layout without photos about forgetting your camera and still tell all of what you saw.
Hey, with all your talent, you could just recreate the scene, ya know? :D

I always remember my camera as I think it is glued to my arm. But I never remember to charge batteries....... Result is the same unfortunately with no photos.

awww Debb :( ... An addicts worse nightmare not to have the needed supply, but at least your addiction is healthy, won't ruin your brain or your blood!!! and I agree with Mel, you can just scrap all the beauty you saw, cause your that good!!! and yes a LO about the "Day Debb forgot the Camera!!!" ... oh and then there is the kit of all the colors you saw...woohoo, Debb's on vacation and we benefit YAY!!!
I carry my camera in a backpack now and it is my purse and I attach my keys to it, can't lock the house up without my purse and keys, now how do I remember to charge the batteries, oh yeah I keep three spares and rotate them so I at least always have two fully charged (well, so far it's been a good plan, expensive one, but hasn't failed me yet!!!)
Can't wait to see the rest of the trip in photo's cause I can imagine you won't forget it again!!! (might want to put a sticky note on the rearview mirror...Debb did you forget the Camera???) just joking!!!

Debb, I know it hurt alot to forget your camera, but I think the Lord wanted you to be fully immersed in your time with your sons! Maybe He didn't want ANYTHING to get in the way of the special time you were to have together! Then again, maybe you're not like me - not totally engaged in the event, because I'm thinking about lighting and poses and whether or not to zoom, etc.!
