PSE photo editing

i have a friend who is getting into digital phtography and was wonderfing if he should get PSE or PS....he will be editing photos and playing with effects and filters....should he get PS or just PSE? (i don't know the capibilities of PSE, sorry)

I am learning with PSE and have found it to be quite capable. I don't know anything about PS. One thing to consider is that if he will expect you to help him out then you should recommend a program that you know to make it easier for you.

Christine I love my PSE but it does have limitations. If he is going to use actions like Amy is providing then they mostly do not work with PSE. The other thing is how much money he wants to spend. PS is a professional program so is priced that way. Which ever he will have fun.
