Here I was all ready last week for CIJ and plans to make some of the chats. But my daughter is sick with abdominal pain. We did the round with GP's last week and told if no improvement to take her to hospital this week. So for the last 3 days we have been undergoing tests at 2 hospitals. Sitting in emergency for 2 full days is no fun. There were no hospital beds so home we came at night. After 3 days of tests, yesterday afternoon another doctor told us that they could not find anything and it could be irritable bowel syndrome bought on by a viral infection. So home we came. She had something to eat yesterday afternoon but was crying with stomache pain last night and could not eat dinner. I guess I try this morning to get the first available appointment with a GP. (It usually takes a couple of days to get an appointment here!!)
So this is the 3rd week of school she has missed. Our DVD player died so I guess it is TV on the couch for my poor DD. Anyway if I am home I may be able to scrap and make some of the chats.

soo sorry your daughter is having pain. Do you think it might be something she is eating? Hannah used to suffer from abdominal pain and we were told to go gluten free, no way to do that here but cutting back on her intake of gluten really helped.
here is a bit of info http://www.healthguidance.org/entry/1383/1/Get-Abdominal-Pain-Diarrhea-or-Other-Digestive-Issues-It-May-Be-Celiac-Disease.html
I would record what she eats and see if some foods have more of an affect on her.
I hope she feels better soon

poor baby!! its always so frustrating when your childs sick, you just want to make it all better and cant!! I like Ann's suggestion. Hope she gets well again real quick!!
Poor sweetie! Sending big healing hugs her way! I agree with Ann, I bet it is something she's eating. I hope you get to the bottom of this soon! It is so not fun when your little ones are not well.

Oh Carolyn, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know what you mean about sitting around in the ER; I've done that this week with DH (he's home now). Nothing is worse than when your child is sick, especially when they can't find the problem. Hang in there; sending healing thoughts your way.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments and wishes. We were lucky to get back to our GP this morning who thinks now it is a viral infection as the start of this 2 weeks ago was high fevers and skin rash. DD is still covered in an itchy rash so it seems to be all related??? We just have to wait. Next visit back to doctor is monday. There are really some strange viruses out there!

Alannah has suffered for 3 weeks with residual effects from the flu, so I'm with you in this same boat - - - - I would rather be sick than her, and I imagine you feel the same way. I'm sorry that it's been a difficult week. Prayers for healing and comfort have already been spoken.

Oh Carolyn, I hope DD is feeling better soon. I know that around here every summer there is an outbreak of a gastrol viral infection/flu. Connor had it last year and it was horrible. Lasted about two weeks. Lots of stomache pain, diaherra(sp?) and fever.
