I have a hammock! The church choir gave me a house warming present: a hammock!

Today while Michael and a friend installed an attic fan and house fan (no A/C for us, this beautiful old house has radiant heat), Alannah and I put up a hammock between two trees. After we were done, she got a book and we read while we gently swayed.

We were under a lovely, relaxing canopy of a mature maple with long, slender branches overhead. The evergreen was to our backs, which is fine since the lower branches are dead (a project for another day - - - cutting down hundreds of dead branches). We can also swing on the hammock and look at the yard and house and gardens. It was so fun to snuggle and cuddle with my usually energetic girl. She's over the flu now, thank goodness.

If the mosquitoes would have left me alone, I would have fallen asleep! I love hammocks!

Bet that was so nice to just relax and kick back with your daughter. Glad to hear she is over the flu. Yea those mosquito's sure can be a real pain.

Have never own a hammock before but sure have thought about getting one with the stand. Only thing is I'm a big women and afraid they might not hold the weight so well.

Jen, you can buy heavy duty frames to go with an 82 inch, 2-person hammock. I say GO FOR IT. Mine is an 82 inch bed and I love it.

Ahhh.... I love hammocks - grew up with one in our yard every summer. I do have a swinging chair for our front porch (which STILL isn't up) and when we built we even had a ceiling fan installed out there. but my boys won't let me just sit and read out there ... sigh, maybe when they are a little older! Glad she is over the flu - she will get to see the fireworks tomorrow, won't she?

Ohhhh I love hammocks - even though I risk getting tumped over every time I get in one. Congratulations!!!
