Upload image resolution

Hi there,
I just noticed in my gallery that the images are not very high resolution is there something I am doing wrong in the conversion from my original ??

I scrap 8*8 and this last layout was 200 pixels per inch
It looks very crisp on the original.

I reduced the image to 3*3 inches kept it at 200
then used jpg optimizer to get under 125K
mmmmm it was a huge file
any tips would really be appreciated

Drop your ppi to 72 ppi - that's all a normal screen can handle. I use PSP, so I drop mine to 72 ppi and for 12x12 layouts, I can adjust it to 25% to get 600 pixels per side. Then I use the JPEG Exporter to get the size under 100K. I just happen to do 100K because some of the magazine sites require that size.

Thanks for the reply Maggie, I use PSP tried that and not much difference what pixel resize setting should I use.

I shoot for 600 pixels on my longest side - you can change your resize to either % or pixels. For me and 12x12 - 25% works well. For 8x8, I think it was something like 37%.
