I haven't printed too many of my layouts, although I'd really love to - now I just have so many it would be overwhelming. So, my question is do you print your layouts, some of them, or only keep them on your computer? What do you do for albums? I feel like I have never completed an album as I tend to go back and rescrap or scrap out of date pictures at random times.

I haven't printed any of my digital ones....the only ones (so far) I've printed are the ones that I paper scrapped on my sons plays he was in, took pictures of them and then had them printed out for his grandmother for a gift.

I do want to start printing out what I have so far and do an album...but like Rachel, I just keep redoing....

I print them all....and boy am I glad I do! A few years ago I lost my hard-drive (and of course did not have it backed up!) Thankfully I had printed all but a few of my layouts so even though I had lost the digital file I at least had 1 hard copy.

I print all my layouts in an 8x8 format, but my very favorite ones I will print in a 12x12 format and those I usually frame and hang...even switching them out with the seasons (beach layouts in the summer, ski layouts in the winter, etc.)

But as for your other question about albums, I struggle with that too because I'm all over the place in creating my layouts, right now I just have a kind of 'general' album for my boys, another one for vacations, one for extended family and one for 'when my family was young' (layouts I'm doing with scanned photos from when my boys were babies, toddlers, etc.) At some point I will have to get them into a more chronological order. The nice thing is it is just a matter of slipping them out of the sleeve of one album and putting them in another.

I have printed special albums that I made for special occasions, but as a rule I just keep them on my computer. For a while, I was only scrapping in 8x10 so that I could easily print them out and put them in a frame, espccially Audrey layouts for my mom, but now that I have found 12x12 frames and 8x8 albums, I'm scrapping almost all square.

I print them all! After 1 year of digi scrapping, I finally decided to get an Epson R1800, and I love it.

I would highly suggest, however, that everyone print a couple LOs, because sometimes things will look dramatically different printed than on the computer screen, and you'll discover this once you print a couple LOs. I printed a few right at the beginning, just using my regular printer, and it opened my eyes up to a few things, and I am very grateful for it because it saved me from wasting a lot of time in the future, things I've incorporated in my LOs since.

Emily, what are the kinds of things that you incorporated into your layouts that printed better, and or left off?????

I print and keep. I scrap and print 8x8 mainly, so I can print at home. I also back them up on disks and I have copies on my harddrive too.

I print all mine in 8 x 8, one day I hope to get a lg format printer that can do 12 x 12 . I have 7 albums, family, hertiage, holidays, extended family, wedding (sons) and 2 baby/childhood of each son albums. Its been harder to keep up with the printing whilst I have been doing the CT here but I generally pick one day a month and go it!!!
I like the tactile feel of picking up an album and filling through it.

You do pick up things when you see it in print....the saturation of colours etc..

I print everything. As soon as a layout is complete it is printed there and then on my Canon printer as 8*8. Usually, I have to print a few copies as the girls and my parents also want copies! I don't date or theme order albums as most layouts have a date and I love the randomness of "what is on the next page". I also backup the layered file to DVD.

I print them all when I can afford it!

Right now, I'm doing a one year album for each child, and then everything is in a family album, by year...

Also have a hospital album and a pregnancy album for selah, and will have one for zoe also....

Occasionally if we go on a special vacation or an a special event I'll do a seperate small album. Like my sisters recital pictures...I'll probably do a 5x7 album for her birthday for her...and maybe a double layout of my fav photos for our family album

Also....I use to have 12x12 printed...but I've switched to 8x8.

ANd EVERYTHING is in chronological order...Now that I'm finally current in my scrapbooking, I rarely scarp one months photos until the previous month's are finished...and I keep them saved that way also

OMG Steph - you are entirely too organized!!! :)

I may never get caught up and I certainly don't scrap chronologically - may be one reason I don't worry about printing things out. I'm doing good to get them organized in album folders on my EHD.

I print everything, keep everything on one of my hard drives and an external drive, and burn DVDs as well. I keep albums by the year for Abigail and give them to her parents after her Christmas birthday. Layouts that are about family members are printed and given to the family at Christmas; I gave them the initial albums and it's up to them to slip the new sheets in. I print everything 8x8 and made the decision to scrap 8x8 several months ago. I'm very fortunate to have one of our church members own a UPS store and he only charges me 49cents a copy. Think that's my reward for having done the church web site, pictorial directory cover and candid pages, and for keeping a pictorial directory current for our Bible Fellowship class.
