My horrible, awful day

I'm not complaining....nope not in the least....REALLY!!!

BUT.....I could do with a little tea and sympathy so grab yourself a cuppa and let me tell you my story.....

After years of living with ricktey, second-hand furniture we finally broke down and bought the boys new bedroom sets...scheduled to be delivered on Monday. The plan was today to pack up their rooms, move out the furniture and then paint the rooms tomorrow so that they would be all set for the new stuff on Monday.

WELL......

Half-way through the day both boys rooms are quasi-disaster zones with boxes of clothes to keep....to give to good will....to throw away....oh and of course, toys, etc. I go out to put in another load of laundry (yes I was multi-tasking even though I'm not very good at it) when what do I find? MY ENTIRE GARAGE IS FLOODED! (That's garage/office :eek: )

It seems our septic system was backed up and needed pumping. Great! Guess where the tank is? Under my new garden that I had been working on all Spring...of course! So we dig up all of the plants (all two hundred of them!) move mounds of dirt and watch the 'lovely' process of our tank being pumped out.

Job done right? Nope....our toilets still don't flush and now our bathtubs are backed up with the most disgusting water....I don't even want to THINK about how much bleach it is going to take to decontaminate them. (oh did I also happen to mention it was 'that time of the month?' WITH NO BATHROOMS!!!!:eek: :eek: )

So now...the boys rooms are still in the same state of chaos they were earlier today, I have a four-foot mound of dirt on my patio with roses, lillies and putunias stuck in buckets everywhere and everything in the garage (except for my desk, that I had to literally 'climb' to get to) is pushed into the middle of our garage so that we can dry out the floors and walls.

Tomorrow.....TOMORROW!!!!.....we get the 'pleasure' of finding out how much an emergency plumber is going to cost to get this all fixed.

My hubby keeps looking at me and saying, "ah honey, don't cry, its not that bad." NOT THAT BAD!!!!! Is he insane?!!!!!


Okay....deep breath here.....see.....all I needed was a little bit of sympathy from my friends....I'm feeling SO much better!:o

Ohhh my goodness!! Yes, it is that bad. Right now it is! And tomorrow it probably won't be quite as bad and next week it's going to be not nearly as bad but right now it's bad and it's ok to complain and to cry and to eat a lot of chocolate!!! {{{{{HUGSSS}}}}}
And yes, it's going to make one awesome page ... actually I'm thinking it might make a whole album ....
Can't even tell you to take a nice relaxing bath .... ah well, chocolate and chatting here it is then :D

well think of it this way the boys will probably like their rooms messy save them having to do it . gotta laugh though . we lost 3 cows to snake bite one year 3 days in a row thats was a lot of money for us a old cocky said just be thankful if you get up in the morning and you still have some . looks like yOu still have some Deb .. some GOOD friends... good family and PLENTY OF CHOCOLATE:D

LOL...(not about the septic problem, sorry about that) but on you taking pictures...you are one TRUE scrapper!!!!!!!!!!!! The good think about the septic tank problems is that the grass (flowers) is always greener (brighter) over the septic tanks :rolleyes: :D ;)

Well....thanks to the extra boost of energy I got from all the chocolate and sweet sympathy from all of you I am doing SO MUCH better today!! Yesterday we finally got the plumbing back in working order, I scrubbed down our bathrooms (they reek of bleach right now, but at least they are clean, clean, clean!) The boys' rooms are all packed up and ready to be painted, the dirt is back in the garden (although all the plants are still sitting around in pots and what-not).

So guess how my dear hubby gets to spend his Father's Day....painting bedrooms!! Oh joy!! ;) At least we will all be together and he did get breakfast in bed this morning and I WILL make him a very special dinner tonight.

Whew....what a weekend!! Hopefully tomorrow I'll get my garden re-planted and then it will all just seem like a very long, exhausting dream!!
