Introducing the May 2011 Artisan Notebook ™
Quirky scrapbook pages are, by definition, a little odd, and layout artists who are passionate about this style say there are no rules for creating a quirky page. This freedom can be liberating for an artist, but also difficult for some who like to follow a process or be in familiar territory. With that in mind, this month we’ve interviewed three quirky artists to learn more about their creative processes and we have published their favorite layouts as inspiration. We have an Artist Trading Card article from Petra, plus a fun challenge for you. Meet Anne of Alamo and learn from her how to let your hair down and have fun while being quirky. Artist Jo Ann Arnett shares her passion for all things quirk, and you’ll love her beautiful ATCs.
We are pleased to feature a wonderfully quirky site: Deviant Scrap. They have provided a beautiful kit as part of our monthly “Scrapped” contest.
Meet Fiddlette Designs and her talented creative team, and enjoy an amazing display of their beautiful quirky layouts. Fiddlette has created a fun and fabulous kit called, “The House that Jack Built,” as a gift to our readers.
Regular contributor Tangie Baxter of Studio Tangie is right at home in this issue, and she has provided a printable paper doll sheet for you. You’ll love the quirky template created by Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs and provided to our readers as another free gift. The Life Book project takes us further on our journey of discovery. Grow with Love provides readers with journaling prompts for meaningful layouts.
Our regular features include Inspiration Station – full of quirky layouts and ATCs, a journaling challenge, a title challenge with Dr. Suess as our muse, a quirky recipe challenge, a color challenge with a fun photo challenge, plus a three-photo scraplift inspiration that will make you want to get quirky! All of our creative team members in this issue outdid themselves in the quirk department!
This month we are introducing our new hybrid team to you, plus two beautiful hybrid projects.
Finally Dee Bee Designs has created a fun mini kit, “Muse and Memory” for your scrapping pleasure.
